Flamengo won the Carioca Championship for the 37th time. The title came from the feet of a name already marked in the history of the club and also of a boy who starts his career in the red-black professional. There were two goals by Gabigol to pave the way and one by young João Gomes, 20, to define the 3-1 triumph over Fluminense, in Maracanã, this Saturday. Fred, from the penalty spot, took it out for the tricolor team.
This was the sixth three-time championship won by Flamengo in the history of the Carioca Championship. Before, the club had achieved the feat in: 1942/43/44, 1953/54/55, 1978/79/79 (special), 1999/2000/2001 and 2007/08/09.
